These 6 games are for a group of spanish speaking yr 6 primary pupils. They offer repetitive practice in the spanish meaning of a selection of english verbs. The games could also be suitable for ESO1 reinforcement.

One more worksheet related to Victorian Working Children. This is a translation activity, aimed at reinforcing the past tense.
And here’s the final set of worksheets with an online game. In total, including groups A & B, I should have covered more than 30 verbs from the list of the top 50 most commonly used irregular verbs.
It’s been almost 10 years since I came across that list and I vaguely remember reading that if you knew the first 20 then that was equivalent to knowing 50% of the irregular verbs used in day to day language and if you knew all 50 of them then it was equivalent to knowing 80% of irregular verbs used in day to day language. I don’t know how accurate that is but I find it very inspiring.
An extra verb scramble worksheet:
I finally managed to make a fun game for these first verbs at http://www.classtools.net.
I want to add that I’m not a fan of games that focus more on your dexterity skills than the content that your trying to learn. Especially when you’re only seeing 1 focus word every 2 mins.
But this game forces you to keep your eyes on the words the whole time. You can see various words at the same time, it’s very repetitive without getting too boring too soon and it’s fast moving. All in all, I like this game for this particular grammar point.
This is a simple game I made at http://www.englishexercises.org based around the Irregular verbs from group A.
Basically one sentence is correct and the rest are wrong. You have 30 seconds to select the correct one which I think makes the game a bit slow but I didn’t have the option to speed it up.
